Maths - Week beginning 27th April

This week our math sessions are going to focus on time. We will be looking at the clock, days of the week, seasons and our daily timetables.

Monday - Your day

Below are a list of activities, can you match them to the correct time of day that you would normally do these things?

Will it be:
morning (6 am-12 noon)
afternoon (12 noon-4 pm)
evening (5-6 pm)
night time (7 pm onward).

  • eating breakfast
  • putting your pyjamas on
  • sunset
  • getting picked up from school
  • getting dressed for the day
  • eating dinner
  • coming to school
  • eat lunch
  • have a bath
  • sunrise

Tuesday - Drawing your timetable

Can you draw a visual timetable for your day?
I would like you to include the following:
  • breakfast
  • school activities
  • daily exercise/play time
  • dinner
  • lunch
  • story time/movie time
  • bed time
(please note this is only an example - please interpret it as you like)

Wednesday - Looking at the clock

How many clocks have you got in your house?
Look at the numbers on the clock throughout the day and ask your grown-up what time is it?
Can you make note of what time it is when you have your lunch and then when you have your dinner?

Can you make your own clock?

Thursday - Days of the week

Have a go at learning our days of the week using this song: Days of the Week

Are there specific things that you do on specific days?
For example I know that on a we have P.E on Monday and I know that on Tuesday we have ICT.

What is your favourite day of the week and why?
