Maths - Week beginning 20th April

This week we are going to be recapping all we know about both 2D and 3D shapes.

Monday - Recapping 2D shape

Dance along with Jack Hartmann  - 2D shape dance!

Using the below clues can you find these 2D shapes around your home?

1. I have four sides and four corners, all of my sides are the same length. What am I? (Square)

2. I have three sides and three corners, what am I? (Triangle)

3. I have no corners and no sides. I have one round edge. What am I? (Circle)

4. I have four side and four corners. I have two long sides and two shorter sides. What am I? (Rectangle)

Tuesday - 2D shape poster

Using whatever resources you have at home, can you create a poster to teach others in your family about 2D shapes and their properties?

Here are a few examples to inspire you:

Wednesday - Outdoor shape hunt

This fabulous idea was sent in by Anya's mummy. Today we would like you to take your maths lesson outside.

Either on your daily walk or in your garden, I would like you to have a look around the environment and see what shapes you can find. Can you spot both 2D and 3D shapes outside?

Snap a few pictures and upload them onto your Tapestry account.

Thursday - Exploring 3D shape

Today are going to explore 3D shape, first we are going to dance along with Jack Hartmann - 3D Shape Song

For today's task, I would like you to learn the below poem and have a go at creating some actions to go along with it!
