Welcome to our Reception blog

This blog has been set up to support your child with home learning. 

On this blog you can find:
  • lesson plans 
  • resources
  • photographs
  • links to further online learning platforms.
Work will be uploaded and updated onto the blog by 9am Monday to Thursday. 
Miss Forrester will be available between the hours of 9am- 12pm and 1pm - 3pm.

Please use the class blog to keep up to date with any announcements from class teachers. 

Your child should have received the following to ensure they can keep on track with home learning: 

  • home learning book
  • pencil
  • relevant word mats 
  • passwords to relevant websites
  • reading books 
Pupils should be encouraged to send work via the class email to the class teacher, this can include videos, photographs and work. Your child will be given a specific day of the week on which they will receive feedback on work submitted. However, any queries regarding work and tasks can be addressed using the class email during the hours previously mentioned.

Don't forget to upload any pictures of you child's home learning onto your Tapestry profile, which will be looked at by our Reception Team.

Here are this weeks numeracy tasks.  Monday - Exploring number bonds within 10.  Using your ten-frame that was included in your home learning pack (or you could draw one on some paper) can you explore what numbers make 10.   Can you list all of the different number sentences to make ten? (see below example) 3+7=10 *Please note you can work within five if your child is struggling with ten.  Tuesday - Using the below as a guide, can your child complete the following for numbers 1-10.  For example:  Wednesday -  Coin challenge  Ask your grown up if you can count the coins they have? How many are 1p coins?  Can you create and write a number sentence? Thursday -  Whose shoes? Can you find 4 different sized shoes in your house and put them in order of size? What else can you find to order by length? Can you write a sentence to explain what you have noticed? Happy investigating!
